Chief Manufacturing Officer, Consumer Laser Products
Job Description:
· Negotiate and manage multiple vendors, contracts, production schedules, and qualityassurance for out-of-house commercial & consumer laser and flashlight product manufacturing
· Liaison between western engineering teams and vendors for new product transfer
· Provide on-going production problem solving and vendor technical support
· Continually improvemanufacturing quality and efficiency through process refinement.
Requirements:
· General knowledge of mechanical, electrical and optical engineering fields associatedwith laser and/or flashlight manufacturing, or comparable electro-optic products.
· Minimum 3 years experience in the coordination of consumer electronics manufacturing with avariety of suppliers and factories
· Minimum 2 years experience with various QA systems. Prefer experience with Japanese QAsystems.
· Prefer experience and product knowledge with battery operated products.
· Ability to work well self-directed, under deadline pressure.
· Strong experience in sourcing, costing, vendor selection & price negotiation
· Strong leadership, good problem solving, and strong technical skills
· Excellent command of spoken and written English & Chinese in the engineering field.
· Travel to suppliers and factories
Responsibilities:
· Monitor and manage the production process and vendors to ensure on-time shipments
· Ensure vendor process and product compliance to quality system requirements
· Manage & translate engineering teams technical communications to and from vendors fornew product transfer/development, and technical problem solving
· Find and resolve technical, quality, and production problems
· Responsible for production planning to preempt issues, enhance efficiency, increase productquality, and reduce production costs. |
